Gallery Poulsen fejrer 10 års jubilæum med international X-factor
November 23 - December 21

Gallery Poulsen celebrates its 10th anniversary with international X-factor
On Friday the 22th November Gallery Poulsen celebrate its anniversary with an explosive exhibition of the gallery's artists who after 10 years is an international tightly knit group of both established and upcoming names.
The artists, several of which are placed in renowned collections as MOMA in New York and The Saatchi Collection in London, has been given free rein to create specific artworks for the anniversary. In addition they have each been asked to invite an upcoming artist with X-factor to participate in the group exhibition. The result is an explosive cocktail from Paris to Brooklyn with loving and humorous references to the Danish duck pond, which on this occasion gives retort with a few hard-hitting works created by Lars Grenaae and Jacob Dalstrup.
"That it is possible to show such an international show is largely due to the past year's focus on creating good relations with the art scene on the American East Coast. It is therefore with great pleasure that Isaac Arvold, Eric Inkala, Jean -Pierre Roy, Tom Sanford and Barnaby Whitfield all have taken the trip across the Atlantic to attend the opening and the celebration of the anniversary" says Morten Poulsen. Also Vuk Vidor from Paris will visit.
Over the years the gallery has established itself as a dynamic space for international contemporary art, often with a political edge that challenges the established art dogma. Exaples of this was the co-operation with the American artist duo The Yes Men during COP15 in 2009 and the exhibition of Leonard Cohen's artworks from 40 years, which was a well-visited and popular exhibition.
In recent years, the gallery's gaze has been firmly directed to the art scene in Brooklyn. "There is hardly anywhere else in the world where art thrives so explosively. It is here, in the empty warehouses, where all type of artists and art have settled that the gallery spots it’s future talents"says Morten Poulsen.
Both the new talents and their mentors can be seen in the Meatpacking District from Friday the 22th November and the following month at Gallery Poulsen, Flæsketorvet 24 , 1711 Copenhagen V.
Because of the festive occasion we're giving anniversary posters by Tom Sanford to the first 100 guests in the gallery on November 22nd.
