Time to Relax, Time to Enjoy!
We are going on summer break, which means that Gallery Poulsen will be closed from July 9th to August 12th. But we can't do so without first giving you a teaser of our upcoming summer exhibition.
Lost in Translation – New Art From New York and Other Places part XIII
We return from our summer break on August 13 with the opening of our annual summer exhibition, this year bearing the title Lost in Translation. Our annual summer exhibitions are characterized by their diverse visual expressions and a long list of participating artists. The title of this year’s exhibition is borrowed from Sofia Coppola’s 2003 film by the same name, wherein two people are looking for meaningful relations in a world that appears to be foreign and unapproachable to them.
With our Lost in Translation, we likewise wish to create a space where a common doubt or disconnection can act as a catalyst for personal connections across cultural differences. These connections are given the opportunity to arise when one allows art to participate in the dialogue, letting it become the meeting point between people from widely different backgrounds, revealing that we are not alone in our search for meaning.
The large group exhibition will feature new works from our exquisite roster of artists, as well as works by artists who haven't exhibited with Gallery Poulsen before.
We look forward to seeing you at the opening where many of the international artists will be making the trip across the pond to Copenhagen, bringing the international art scene to Gallery Poulsen.
We wish you a very happy summer
